What is “Dark Web”

“Dark Web” is term used to websites which refer to unreacheable internet hosts/websites on the world wide web a.k.a Internet. There are other terms like “Deep Web” or “DarkNet” but these refer to websites/hosts which are can be reached but lack in path to reach them easily, which may be due to insufficient hyperlinks.

The “Dark Web” is specifically referred to those hosts which are restricted from outside and hidden. Sometimes the restriction is imposed and many times gets implied due to disputes among the network cotracts or network policies. The traffic filtering technique is also another factor which adds up to “Dark Web”, making a particular host/site unreacheable from a particular network. A misconfiguration at the network level may also accidently cause a host to fall into this space.
